Paremata Residents Association AGM 2025You are invited to the 2025 AGM to be held on Thursday 14th August at Mana Cruising Club (Ngati Toa Domain), commencing 7:00pm. Our guest speaker is Steve Hutchison, Chief Advisor Wastewater of Wellington Water, who will give a presentation on wastewater issues in our area, current activities and future plans (subject to the new 3 waters entity). This will be followed by agenda items to confirm the AGM 2024 minutes, receive the annual and financial reports, set subscriptions and elect the committee for 2025/26. A resolution will be put to the AGM for the adoption of a new constitution for the Association that complies with the Incorporated Societies Act 2022. Annual General Meeting 2024The Paremata Residents Association AGM was held on a very wet evening on Thursday 29 August 2024. Many thanks to all those residents who braved the wind and rain to listen to an interesting and informative presentation by Angela, Torre and Andre from Pest-Free Porirua, who talked about their activities to trap pests like rats and stoats to protect our endemic bird life. That was followed by a presentation by Kate and Alanah, who explained what Wellington City Council is doing to tackle their stray cat problem. Perhaps Porirua City Council should adopt a similar programme. Under formal business the 24/25 committee was elected, the financial report agreed and subscriptions for financial membership set to remain at $10 per household.
8 members of the current committee were re-elected together with 3 new nominations (see About Us for details). Officers will be appointed at the first Committee Meeting on 12 September. Coralie Morrison and Lorraine Taylor did not stand for re-election. We thank them both for their invaluable contribution to the Association, especially the social media posts.
Russell Morrison was awarded Life Member of the Association (our first) for outstanding contribution to the Association and our community. This was approved with unanimous support from both the committee and AGM.

AGM 2023This year's AGM was held on 16 August at the Mana Cruising Club. Mayor Anita Baker gave the keynote presentation covering a wide range of topics impacting Porirua and local residents. The presentation was well received with questions from the residents present. The 2022 AGM minutes were passed without modification, the annual financial report was discussed and accepted. It was agreed that subscriptions for 2023 would be retained at $10 per household. The key points of the annual report were presented.. A PDF copy of the annual report can be downloaded below. Eight current members of the executive committee were re-elected, together with a new member, which is one more than the minimum of 8 required under the Association's rules. Existing committee member Francesse Middleton, our current Treasurer, was unable to stand for election. Selection of officers will take place at our next Committee Meeting on 14 September.
