Welcome to the Paremata Residents Association Web Site

The Paremata Residents Association's village area includes the suburbs of Paremata, Papakowhai, Mana and the southern side of Camborne. For a map of the village area and more information about the Residents Association, click here  (About Us).

This area is one of eleven communities of suburbs within the city of Porirua recognised by the Porirua City Council under its Village Planning Programme, an award-winning partnership between the Porirua City Council and its suburban communities.

The Programme puts communities in charge of developing a vision for their neighbourhoods and then partnering with Council to make it happen. This vision is brought together through community consultation and developed into Village Plans, which lay out the communities’ goals and aspirations for the future of their ‘villages’.

Mana Clearways - Esplanade Residents Leaflet

The NZ Transport Agency (NZTA) and Porirua City Council are facing pressure to do something about the increasingly frequent and lengthy queues that are occurring for traffic using Mana Esplanade, particularly northbound traffic on weekends and before public holidays. NZTA have carried out a review of Esplanade traffic but are yet to decide what action to take on clearway hours. In the meantime the Association has sent a leaflet to Mana Esplanade resident and businesses providing background information and proposing action.
