Future Projects

We have been advised that $27,000 has been allocated to our Village from the PCC’s 2015/16 Village Planning budget, primarily to allow rubbish bins to be installed on walkways in our area and at Ngatitoa Domain.  We hope to discuss details with the PCC in the near future.

We also anticipate some further contact with PCC officers on proposals for a walking/cycling link between the Northern end of the Camborne walkway and Pope Street (adjacent to Grays Road) and for a diving platform near the Paremata Bridge.

We have asked the PCC to provide a pedestrian crossing on Papakowhai Road outside the central entrance to the Aotea lagoon.  We believe the current lack of a safe means of crossing what at times is a very busy road is unacceptable, particularly for parents with small children, pushchairs, etc.  The Council has so far only provided a refuge at the Northern entrance to the lagoon grounds which, in our view, is of no value whatsoever, so we have advised them accordingly and we await the provision of a proper crossing.
